I waited to review the picture until it was framed. I’ll let you decide. (I love it. It fits perfectly with the nautical influence of my interior design. The black raised grain wood frame with the double mat of white and moss green makes the picture pop off the wall. This is located in the hallway of my front entry.)

Absolutely one of the most gorgeous mermaid artworks I have ever seen! Printed on nice heavyweight paper. Properly packed & protected & shipped quickly. The artist/seller informed me when item was shipped & wrote a handwritten thank you note. Plus included a free set of note cards! I have already framed the artwork, but can't decide where to hang it. It looks beautiful everywhere!!

This is going to look perfect in my nautical themed bathroom. For some reason the picture made it look vertical but it’s horizontal—which still works!

A little glimpse of my studio/office. It's a happy place with photos of loved ones and a large sunny window.
I love the pearl "create" word that hangs from the mirror in my studio. A very important word for an artist.
The view outside my studio window during the long, cold New England winters!
This is where orders are packaged.
And this is Baby, my little Quality Control manager, who inspects all orders before they go out the door!

"Any arbitrary turning along the way, and I would be elsewhere. I would be different."

That quote from Frances [Diane Lane] in Under the Tuscan Sun (one of my favorite movies) sums up how I feel about my art career. It was a chance lunch with a friend on a warm September day in 1994... a chance stroll through our town center... a chance encounter with a painting shop that led me to where I am today. Had any of those things not occurred, I would be elsewhere. I would be different.

Although I never took any lessons beyond that one night a week / 6 week beginner course that I signed up for that day, I was hooked. I painted furiously at home, which led to selling my work in craft fairs, and eventually, to where I am today.

I'm not sure where I'd be had there been "any arbitrary turning along the way," but I am so grateful that there wasn't. I think this path, for me, was meant to be.

(Thank you to my mom and dad, who came to every craft fair I was ever in. Mom, you "oohed and aahed" over all the drawings I did as a child. Dad, how I wish I had some of the original 'pin-up girl' drawings that you created for the other GI's during WWII. You are both my heroes! I love you and miss you every day!)
